Blue Jackets compose Adam Boqvist, two first-round picks for Seth Jones

The Columbus Blue Jackets like obtained defenseman Adam Boqvist, first round picks in the 2021 (12th overall) and 2022 NHL Drafts and a 2nd round select in the 2021 Draft (44th overall) from the Chicago Blackhawks in change for defenseman Seth Jones, Columbus’ first round select obtained from Tampa Bay (32nd overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft and Columbus’ sixth round select in the 2022 NHL Draft, club Total Supervisor Jarmo Kekalainen announced tonight.

Boqvist, 20, used to be selected by Chicago in the principle round, eighth overall, in the 2018 NHL Draft. He has registered six targets and 23 assists for 29 factors with 20 penalty minutes in 76 profession NHL video games with the Blackhawks. In 2020-21, he notched 2-14-16 and 14 penalty minutes in 35 outings. He made his NHL debut in 2019-20, tallying 4-9-13 and six penalty minutes in 41 video games with the Blackhawks. He also added 1-5-6 and 10 penalty minutes in 15 outings with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

The 6-0, 179-pound native of Falun, Sweden registered 20-40-60, 12 penalty minutes and 9 strength play tallies in 54 video games with the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights in 2018-19. He used to be named to the OHL’s Second All-Fundamental particular person Personnel after ending 2nd amongst leauge defensemen in targets, third-T in strength play targets, sixth in factors and 11th in assists.

The 6-4, 213-pound blueliner posted 5-23-28 while playing in all 56 video games for the Blue Jackets in 2020-21. He used to be originally selected by Nashville fourth overall on the 2013 NHL Draft.
