MLB DFS: Top DraftKings and FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, lineup advice for Monday, April 25, 2022

Had it not been for a June slump last season, Houston third baseman Alex Bregman might have finished as one of the elite American League hitters in 2021. The month prior to that, he bumped in two RBI and scored a run on May 15 against the Texas Rangers and right-handed starter Dane Dunning. Dunning is off to a rocky start this year (0-1; 5.68 ERA) while Bregman has five hits and four RBI in his last three games, but should you include him in your MLB DFS lineups?

Two other regulars in the Astros lineup, designated hitter Yordan Alvarez and right fielder Kyle Tucker, each took two hits out of their three at bats against Dunning last season. Perhaps stacking several Houston hitters is the approach to consider when scanning Monday’s MLB DFS player pool. Before you make your MLB DFS picks, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Sunday, McClure highlighted Giants first baseman Brandon Belt as one of his top MLB DFS picks on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Belt had a triple and a single with an RBI to return 17 points on DraftKings and 21.7 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2022 MLB season in full swing, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Monday, April 25. Head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday, April 25, 2022

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday is Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner, who is listed at $5,500 on DraftKings and $3,900 on FanDuel. Turner is on a three-game hitting streak and has had one in five of his last six starts. Over his last two games, he has also knocked in three RBI, bringing him to 13 on the season.

Los Angeles begins a series at Arizona against the lowly Diamondbacks on Monday night and right-handed starter Merrill Kelly. Kelly has been strong this season, but Turner should be confident in the matchup, as he has two hits and a walk in six previous at bats against him. In six games at Chase Field last season, Turner finished with phenomenal batting splits of .462/.500/1.115.

Another part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Astros left fielder Michael Brantley ($3,500 on DraftKings and $2,600 on FanDuel). Brantley is coming off of his biggest Fantasy performance of the season after he hit a home run with two RBI and a double in Houston’s 8-7 win against Toronto on Saturday. Over the last week, Brantley has nine hits, a home run and three RBI in six games with offensive batting splits of .375/.400/.542.

Brantley missed Dunning in both of his starts against the Astros last season, but daily Fantasy players shouldn’t worry about that. Considering Dunning’s lackluster start through his first three appearances, and Brantley’s success against right-handed pitching, he should be expected to put the ball in play in most of his at bats. So far this year, Brantley is batting .342 against righties with a home run and four RBI, and has a .356 batting average on balls put in play.
